The Alliance Française de Los Angeles (“AFdeLA,” “we,” “us”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit French language school and cultural center located at 10390 Santa Monica Blvd, Suite #300, Los Angeles, CA 90025. This policy describes how information is handled on this website, afdela.org.

• Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address is collected and stored by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), our email service, and used only to send you our newsletter. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
• Email you send us: if you write to admin@afdela.org, we receive your email address and message and use them to respond to you.
• Class registration, membership, and donations: these happen in our enrollment system, ActiveNet (operated by Active Network, LLC), not on this website. Payment card details go directly to that system — this website never sees or stores payment information. ActiveNet's own privacy policy applies to information you provide there.
• Browsing this site: nothing. This website sets no tracking cookies, runs no analytics, and embeds no third-party trackers. You can read every page without being profiled.

The public website does not set cookies. That is why you don't see a cookie banner — there is nothing to consent to. If we ever add analytics, we will update this policy and ask for consent first where required.

If we show you a pop-up and you close it, your browser remembers that locally so we don't show it to you again straight away. That note stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is not used to track or identify you. Clearing your browsing data removes it.

We use the information above only to provide our services: sending the newsletter you asked for and replying to your messages. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing. Our service providers (Mailchimp for email, ActiveNet for enrollment) process information only to provide their services to us.

Students and attendees at our events and cultural programs should be aware that photographs may be taken and used for the Alliance's marketing purposes. If you appear in a photo and would like it removed, contact us and we will accommodate you where we reasonably can.

This website does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Registration for kids' programs is completed by a parent or guardian through ActiveNet.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email. California residents may also ask us what personal information we hold about them, ask us to delete it, and will never be discriminated against for exercising these rights (California Consumer Privacy Act). For any request, email admin@afdela.org — we'll respond promptly. (As a practical note: we typically hold nothing beyond a newsletter address and any emails you've sent us.)
