What is the TCF?

The TCF is the French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education. The TCF examination assesses a person’s level of French language for general purposes. It is intended for people who are not native French speakers and who, for professional, personal or academic reasons, wish to have their competency in French assessed and certified simply, reliably and quickly.

 5 different types of TCF:

• TCF – IRN-  Intégration, Résidence et  Nationalité Française
• TCF – Q for Quebec
• TCF – TP for the general Public
• TCF – DAP for  students | replaced by TCF – TP+Writing
• TCF – Canada for Immigration and Citizenship

 Results

The results of the TCF reliably position candidates at one of the six levels (from level A1 to level C2) of the Council of Europe’s scale. You get the results for the reading and listening comprehension as soon as you finish the test. Within 2 weeks, we email the duplicate of your certificate with your final results. France Education International send us the official paper certificate within 3 weeks. In order to receive your certificate , we ask you to bring a PREPAID  envelope  with tracking number and proof of delivery (USPS  ONLY).

 Preparing for the TCF

Alliance Française can assist you with your preparation. We offer  6, 12 or 18 hour packages to review the procedures of each test and to reinforce the four language skills required for these examinations. Registration

In order to register, please click here to download the registration form. PLEASE ONLY USE CAPITAL LETTER WHILE FILING and add a copy of your photo-ID attached to the form. Registration must be made no later than 15 days before the date of examination.
