What can I expect from a virtual camp?

A mix of French lessons, exercise and interactive games, managed via the videoconferencing app Zoom. Our camps’ weekly themes trigger students’ curiosity, activate their need to speak, use their creativity, express their emotions, and inspire them to defend their ideas all while learning French!

KIDS (6-11)/TEENS (12-16): BEGINNER

“Discovery French”

  • The session for this Summer Camp will be 2 weeks long
  • Monday to Friday, 1:30pm/2:30pm
  • Price: $290/ 2 weeks sessions

This daily course is designed for children whose French is not their first language. They will learn to understand, use familiar expressions and simple phrases in French. Topics related to their everyday life will allow students to introduce themselves and others, to describe their environment, to express their feelings, emotions and tastes. The main objective of this course is to help children to discover French language and culture, work on basic grammar and explore new vocabulary through a variety of fun activities. Children will be exposed to French language with an emphasis on speaking and listening in a supportive environment. Join us for learning, games, songs and fun.

GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY SKILLS

  • Talk about oneself and about one’s everyday environment
  • Write numbers in letters between 0 and 20
  • Use simple and daily vocabulary such as colors, days of the week, family, pets, home, body-parts, favorite activities and leisure
  • Use ‘to be’, ‘to have’ and regular verbs in the present tense
  • Ask and answer simples questions
  • Express emotions and feelings
  • There is no prerequisite for this class.

KIDS (6-11)/TEENS (12-16): INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

“Travel around the French-speaking world”

  • The session for this Summer Camp will be 1 week long.
  • Monday to Friday, 9:30am/11:30am
  • Price: 290$/ week

Let your children boost and strengthen their French skills while traveling through France’s magical culture, history and society.

Let’s bring some adventure to our summer and travel through time in order to explore not only France’s rich past but also to make prediction for the future.

Let our imagination, curiosity, creativity and our greatly experienced French captains take the lead to embark on an imaginary journey and to explore French history.
Daily language class are paired with an assort of fun activities like cooking, arts, music, poetry, treasure hunt and virtual tours of museums, monuments and exhibitions. A great way to sharpen grammar, vocabulary and speaking skills in a fun and entertaining setting.

This summer, embark on a magical adventure to the Middle Ages, meet our cave men ancestors, immerse yourself in the world of fashion and predict the future.

Think outside the box and predict the future way of lives.

Week 4: July 12-16

A la découverte des peintres français

Discover and study the French key painters and their crucial impact on Art history.

Week 5: July 19-23

A la découverte du Moyen-Âge

Read Policies:

Discounts

  • 10% when you enroll in multiple sessions (non-consecutive allowed) of this program
  • 5% when you enroll siblings, will be applied to the registration of each additional child.
  • To take advantage of the discounts, be sure to register all at once. Discounts cannot be combined with any other discount.

 

Refund Policy

No refunds will be issued after June 10. Before June 10, a $100 cancellation fee will be deducted from the refund amount. After June 10, you may withdraw any time before the start of the session for a credit minus the cancellation fee. No withdrawals are accepted after the start of a session. There are no allowances for absences, early withdrawals, or late starts. There is no pro-rating of fees.

 

Absence  Policy

 There are no make-up classes for absences. AFdeLA must be notified if a child will be absent.

Please Note

Every effort will be made to keep students with others of the same level. However programs are subject to change depending on enrollment and teacher availability.
